Hot Roll Steel is the base steel for all others. Hot Roll is the most basic form of steel and is typically used in the following applications.
Hot Roll Steel Applications
- Metal Buildings
- Structurals
- Tank applications
- Spiral and welded pipes
Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRP&O) is obtained by taking a Hot Roll coil and passing it through an acid tank (“pickling”) to de-scale the material and then through a cleaner and finally through an oil tank for corrosion resistance.
Hot Rolled Pickled and Oil Applications
- Tubing
- Automotive Stamping
- Wheels
Cold Roll Steel is Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled steel that has been cold reduced and annealed to obtain a very tight gauge tolerance.
Cold Roll Steel Applications
- Metal Furniture
- Filing Cabinets
- Shelves
- Computer Chassis
- Home Appliances
- Shelving
- Lighting Fixtures
- Tubing
- Steel Drums
- Construction Products
- Lawn Mower
- Painted Applications
Galvanized steel is cold roll steel that has a hot dipped zinc coating applied to the steel for corrosion resistance. The zinc coating will provide corrosion resistance in relation to the coating weight ranging from G-30 all the way to G-210 (Inquire for heavier coating weights).
Galvanized Applications
- HVAC Ductwork
- Computer Cabinets
- Slot Machine parts
- TV/Cable Boxes
- Air Conditioning Equipment
- Heating Equipment
- Refrigerators and Freezers
- Washers and Dryers
- Construction Framing Studs
- Rain Gutters
